Liora is a service provided by NeuroKind Parent Support Pty Ltd, trading as Liora (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care and respect.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Liora, our AI companion service for parents and carers of neurodivergent children.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up to use Liora, we collect:

• Your first name
• Your email address
• Your region (Australia, United Kingdom, or United States — detected automatically or selected by you)

Child Profile Data

If you choose to create a child profile to personalise your support, we collect:

• Your child's first name
• Their age
• Diagnoses or areas of need (e.g. Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder)
• Sensory needs and triggers
• What helps and what makes things harder

This information is used solely to personalise Liora's responses so you don't have to re-explain your situation each time. It is never shared with third parties.

Experiences Journal and Daily Check-ins

If you use the Experiences Journal or Daily Check-in features, we collect:

• Journal entries including trigger, intensity, what happened, and what helped
• Daily mood check-in responses

This data is used to help Liora identify patterns and provide more informed support over time.

Chat Data

When you use Liora's chat feature, we collect and store:

• Messages you send to Liora
• Responses generated by Liora
• Session information and timestamps
• Feedback you provide (thumbs up/down ratings)

Automatically Collected Information

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data, including pages visited, time spent on site, and general location (country/city level). This helps us improve Liora's service.

On your first visit, we use ip-api.com to detect your approximate country from your IP address, solely to display region-appropriate content, pricing, and crisis support information. Your IP address is not stored by us after this one-time lookup.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide personalised AI-powered support and guidance
• Remember your child's profile so you don't have to re-explain your situation
• Email you conversation transcripts when you request them
• Send magic link login emails to authenticate your account
• Process subscription payments through our payment provider (Stripe)
• Improve our AI responses and service quality
• Send occasional updates about Liora services (you can unsubscribe anytime)
• Respond to your enquiries and support requests

Authentication

Liora uses a passwordless magic link login system. When you log in, we send a single-use login link to your email address. Clicking this link authenticates your session using a secure, encrypted token stored as an HttpOnly cookie in your browser. We do not store passwords for regular user accounts.

Third-Party Services

Liora uses the following third-party services to operate:

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in MongoDB Atlas, a cloud-hosted database with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Your chat history, child profiles, journal entries, and check-in data are retained to provide continuity in your support journey.

Your data is isolated to your account. Each user can only access their own chat sessions, child profiles, journal entries, and check-in data. Ownership is verified on every request.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Under applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account page within Liora. This permanently removes your account, child profiles, chat history, journal entries, and check-in data.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by visiting liorasupport.com/unsubscribe.

Children's Privacy

Liora is designed for parents and carers of neurodivergent children, not for children themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
